Be Mighty

The inspiration behind this piece is a book called "Freak the Mighty" by Rodman Philbrick. The lessons this book gave me and many like me were: that everyone is strong in their own way, Everyone had something to offer to society regardless of any limitation they may have, and we are stronger together instead of divided. While I am sure there are problematic elements of this book through today's lense and I am seeing it through rose tinted glasses of nostalgia I still think that is a pretty damn rad that so many kids were given that message via scholastic bookfairs.
